Whirlwind damages dozens of houses in Jombang

JOMBANGĀ Some 73 houses in two villages in the district of Jombang, eastern Java, were damaged during a whirlwind. Of the 73 houses that were damaged, 41 are located in the village of Ngrimbi and 32 in the village of Brongkol. Most houses suffered damage to the roof. One school in the village of Ngrimbi was also damaged.
The strong winds also caused a number of trees to fall down and also broke off some of the electricity poles. The power in the two villages is out at the moment. Outside that, a number of fields with corn and rice which were not ready for harvest yet, were destroyed by the wind or damaged by some falling trees.
