Parts of Bandung hit by hail storm

BANDUNGĀ  Parts of the city of Bandung, in western Java, were hit by bad weather with strong winds and heavy rain. This time there was also hail, which is pretty rare in tropical regions. The small stones of ice with a size of about one centimeter dropped from the sky in various parts of the city while it was raining. The hail caused damage to a number of vehicles that were outside.

The hail came down in the areas of Buah Batu and Soekarno-Hatta in the city of Bandung. Haryawan, an astronomer from ITB, the Technological Institute of Bandung, said that hail is a rare phenomenon here. The hail can be formed when there are certain cold and warm circumstances inside a cloud.
