Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said yesterday (7/1) that the civil claim against Suharto will not be halted. Apart from Suharto’s health, later, said Hendarman, the case will move on to his children. “That’s the provision. There are state bills. If he (Suharto) passes away, the bills are borne by his beneficiary,” stressed Hendarman at the State Palace, Jakarta yesterday.
The state prosecutor’s team from the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) charged the New Order ruler Rp11.5 trillion for having abused Supersemar Foundation funds. In addition to naming Suharto, the state charged Supersemar Foundation for the same case. The case has been ongoing at the South Jakarta District Court.
